In a new blog post from Blizzard, the developer has shared full details on what fans can expect Along with Ramattra, a new escort map called Shamboli Monastery will be added. Yes, that’s exactly the same name as the same studio’s 2009 classic - which, with apologies, is now 13 years old. Infinfity Ward revealed the name last night via Twitter, alongside the game’s logo. To me it looks more like MIIW rather than MWII. Others, meanwhile, have said it reminds them of Nine Inch Nails. This new Modern Warfare 2 is the fifth major game in COD’s Modern Warfare subseries....

From 20th May, Nakatomi Plaza from Die Hard will appear in Downtown for a limited time. This is the tallest single structure seen in Warzone, and includes five floors of space Die Hard fans will find familiar. Nakatomi Plaza replaces the Broadcast Tower and surrounding blocks in Downtown’s southern district. It houses multiple optional missions, including exploring the tower for supply boxes, defusing C4 on the roof, and even interrupting an arms deal....

I’ve been watching quite a bit of basketball lately. It’s not a sport I’ve paid much attention to since my schooldays, when I used to play a bit. But I drifted back to it in 2020, when it was one of the first sports to find a way back from Covid, and the NBA drummed up global interest by showing games online for free. I’ve kept tabs on it since, and now the playoffs have started - and the football season is winding down - I’ve found myself getting quite into it again....

Obviously the resolution targets for each differ: on performance mode we’re looking at a native 1080p target, and on its quality mode, CD Projekt RED targets 1440p. Dynamic scaling is possible, but in Series S’ case it’s honestly been rare in testing; so often each mode hits its resolution targets. While we’re comparing the two modes there’s a few other differences to note above pixel count and frame-rate differences. Firstly, to hit 60fps on the performance mode, the foliage draw distance is dropped back a preset, in essence, meaning more pop-in closer to the screen on Series S at 60fps, while quality mode draws in more plant life to the far distance....

The PIF purchased stakes of more than five percent in both Capcom and Nexon. This equates to a holding of more than $1bn across the two companies (via Bloomberg (paywall)). According to PIF, this move is based purely on an investment opportunity. Capcom, most famous for its Monster Hunter and Resident Evil franchises, recently celebrated a bumper year. Numerous modding projects for Crysis Remastered exist without issue, but Crytek has said it stepped in here due to the project being monetised. Frans Bouma, creator of the mod, last night protested on Twitter that he had received a takedown notice from Crytek PR manager Adam Grinsell. This note, screenshotted below, includes a formal request to remove the mod from Bouma’s Patreon page, with seven days to comply before it is passed to the company’s legal department....
