In a blog post, Bethesda said the Nuclear Winter mode will come to an end in September. Explaining the decision, Bethesda said Nuclear Winter had suffered from a lack of players, which meant it had become difficult to create full lobbies in a reasonable matchmaking time. “When we first introduced Nuclear Winter, we were thrilled to watch so many players from our community, as well as many newcomers, dive head first into our take on the ruthless last-player-standing battle royale genre,” Bethesda said....
Blizzard’s Diablo Hell’s Ink takeover event began in Los Angeles on Saturday and will continue until 10th September. During this time, fans can get a free Diablo tattoo, whilst also nabbing their beta access and digital copy of the game in the process. The campaign will hit eight cities in total, across North America, Europe and Australia, with each pop-up opening for one day only. A competition ran in June which gave fans the chance to win a custom Diablo tattoo, but anyone who missed out on one of those can still get involved....

While this on its own is not all that newsworthy, what makes these upcoming releases by Hasbro more interesting is that they give us all a look at Cal Kestis’ new, and therefore older, image. This includes some impressively-manicured facial furniture. Cal’s beard is groomed impeccably on the soon-to-be-released model, making me wonder how he got such a close shave. Perhaps he took cutthroat shaving to the extreme and used his lightsaber for the job?...
The Australian Classification Board has jumped the gun and published its classification early, and it makes for a humorous read. The ACB warns that the game depicts “tracking and killing of numerous opponents, with resulting examples of blood and injury detail.” “Violence features throughout the majority of gameplay, using firearms that include automatic weapons, as well as blades and other objects,” all pretty standard shooter stuff so far. But it looks like Infinity Ward has upped its game with “brief visual and textual sexual references and mild examples of sexualised imagery in a sequence set in a red-light district,” although before you get too excited, “The game does not feature depictions of sexual activity....
Night vision goggles is an item that isn’t officially in Warzone. It is in Infinity Ward’s 2019 shooter Modern Warfare - the game upon which Warzone is built. You may remember night vision goggles from the superb Clean House campaign mission, but they’re also used during nighttime multiplayer maps. This week, Warzone streamer Stephen “Yungstaz” Galloway uploaded a gameplay clip to Twitter that showed one cheater auto ping everyone in the lobby - and even equip night vision goggles....
The way the stim glitch works is this: once a player has activated the glitch (seemingly now using a strange night vision goggles method) they can spawn infinite tactical items, including healing stims. This means they can drive out into Warzone’s gas and hide there until the game ends, breaking the game in the process and making for a really boring end to the round. To stop this from happening, some heroic players - motivated either by concern for their fellow players or pure unbridled fury - are hunting down the stim glitchers, even if it means their own death....
Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium, as the sequel is known, will follow the same release model as its predecessor, consisting of a free base download that includes one game and offering additional titles to purchase from within the collection. Today, developer CD Projekt Red lifted the lid on its upcoming projects, including one codenamed Orion. This, the company has said, will be the “next Cyberpunk game” and it will take the “Cyberpunk franchise further and continue harnessing the potential of this dark future universe.” There’s no mention here of the company’s long-in-the-works Cyberpunk multiplayer project, which it has been tinkering away on for years and previously described as a “triple-A” release....
