The team that worked on Valve’s first-person puzzle adventure masterpiece have openly talked about cut content in the past. At the Games Developer Conference in 2012, writers Erik Wolpaw and Chet Faliszek talked about features that were cut such as Garfield references, multiple endings, and Wheatley’s early demise. Later that year at PAX Prime, Wolpaw also revealed Valve had planned to have protagonist Chell marry a turret during the game....
According to Far From Home, over 80,000 people played the Forever Skies demo, resulting in a “wave of positive and constructive feedback” the studio wants to implement before launching into Early Access - something it was initially planning to do before the end of this year. “On the surface everything seemed great,” Far From Home says of its recent feedback. “83% of respondents rated the demo as 8/10 or above....
It’s been revealed that various visual options for PS1 games will be available, including multiple resolutions (native, 4:3 for 16:9, and stretched) as well as three filters: default, retro classic, and modern. Retro classic is essentially a CRT filter, meaning it’s replicating the visuals of old TVs for that vintage feel. Unlike other big PlayStation releases, it is recommended that you have a colossal 32GB of RAM available on your PC to play Returnal at its best potential. For comparison, the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves collection and Horizon Zero Dawn both recommend having 16GB of RAM available - that is the minimum of what Returnal asks for. Arriving on 25th May, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S upgrade will allow the game’s engine to “run at a much higher performance, bringing improvements to lighting, texture resolution, and other visual effects thanks to the powerful hardware.” The press release from Deep Silver explains this will bring framerates up to 60fps with dynamic 4k resolution. Xbox Series S users will be able to choose between two modes depending on how they want the game to run....

Past projects include League of Legends, God of War, and Halo Infinite. There’s not a huge amount to report as far as Spider-Man 2 goes just yet, but Sony’s newly revealed cinematic trailer does offer a few tantalising teases of things to come. For starters, it looks like we’ll be getting a double helping of Spidey in the numbered sequel, with both Miles Morales and Peter Parker joining forces to battle against Venom. Insomnic’s original crack at Spider-Man, released in 2018, bought bags of web-swinging fun to the gorgeously realised streets of Manhattan, and its 2020 standalone expansion, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, was equally sharp, meaning expectations will be high for this sequel....
This latest global Splatfest was originally announced last year as part of Nintendo’s Super Mario Bros. 35th anniversary celebrations, and this time players will be ask to choose their favourite Mario power-up, with teams being formed based on their preference for size-boosting Super Mushrooms or invincibility granting Super Stars.
