In an effort to understand this, I manage to encourage neuroscientist and author Dr Dean Burnett to chat with me about it. The Rogue, who was a playable character in Diablo 1, joins the Druid, Barbarian and Sorceress. One character class is left to announce. During a panel at BrownGirlGamerCode, Apex’s senior writer, Ashley Reed, hinted that the studio was working “to integrate Titanfall” into future updates, as “Titanfall’s very much a part of the universe”. Apex’s game director, Chad Grenier, went a little further, too, confirming that Apex would host some “really cool stuff” we might recognise from Respawn’s critically-acclaimed shooter series. “Next season - Season 9 - you’re actually going to see a ton of Titanfall coming back into the game, in one way or another,” Grenier hinted (thanks, Dexerto)....

Today’s Wii U system update, version 5.5.5, is listed by Nintendo as “improving system stability”. Under the hood, dataminer OatmealDome (thanks, Nintendo Life) has suggested it updates the system’s SSL verification code, which powers secure connections online. It’s been two and a half years since the last Wii U update, in September 2018. Do you still have yours plugged in? The last Nintendo Switch update arrived in December, with a few bug fixes....

Sonic Central, as Sega’s calling its digital showcase, gets underway at 5pm BST/9am PT this Thursday, 27th May, and promises a first look at a number of upcoming “projects, partnerships, and events” the company has been working on as part of its anniversary celebrations. There’s no hint as to what those might be as yet, but recent rumours have suggested Sega is prepping both a new collection of classic Sonic titles and a remaster of the hedgehog’s 2010 outing Sonic Colors....

It’s the third game in Square Enix’s Voice of Cards series that presents a turn-based RPG entirely through cards. The series is created by NieR’s Yoko Taro, which is why there’s DLC for the game based on mobile game NieR Re[in]carnation.
