As Double Fine explains in the latest backer update, the studio’s had a pretty busy year. Having been acquired by Xbox Game Studios, Microsoft has now taken over as publisher from troubled company Starbreeze, and while Psychonauts 2 will still be published on all promised platforms (including PlayStation 4), Double Fine says it still needs a bit more time. “We know it’s always disappointing when you have to wait a bit longer, but we also know that you are an amazing, supportive bunch, who - just like us - want the game to be as good as possible,” the post reads....

It’s been a bit of a bumpy ride for Lone Echo 2, which was originally due to launch in 2019; the game has been been hit by multiple delays throughout its journey to release - most recently due to coronavirus-related development challenges - but hopefully the end is now in sight and 12th October will mark the moment Lone Echo 2 finally makes its way to fans....

Image quality makes for a good portion of the discussion, where the PlayStation 5 delivers a full 3840x2160, with Capcom deploying RE Engine’s excellent checkerboard-style image reconstruction technology to render up from a lower base resolution. The Big Box PC Game Collectors group has ousted Enrico Ricciardi after several members came forward with counterfeit copies of classic games which they had purchased from Ricciardi. The group has now shared a public document (via Kotaku) detailing its investigation and subsequent evidence against Ricciardi. This document states: “If you have received games from [Ricciardi], check them closely and compare with known originals. I advise to presume they are fake, because our investigation has unearthed quite a bit more alleged forgeries than real....

He comes courtesy of skymoon who’s uploaded a Tree Sentinel Thomas Mod to NexusMods (spotted by PC Gamer). The mod swaps out the Tree Sentinel’s trusty steed for the bright cartoon train, which looks as laughably ridiculous as you’d expect. What’s more, judging by skymoon’s video of the mod, you can also swap Thomas in for the player’s horse Torrent. It sure is weird seeing Thomas double jumping around Miyazaki’s dark fantasy world....

The lawsuit, as reported by the Washington Post, was filed with the Los Angeles County Superior Court in January by former Riot executive assistant Sharon O’Donnell, who joined the company in 2017 and was fired last July. In the suit, O’Donnell claims Laurent subjected her to numerous sexual comments, inviting her to travel with him and to work from his home when his wife was away, asking if she “could handle him when they were alone at his house”....

The channel previously ran a video accusing the Roblox Corporation of “exploiting” young game developers. The company has since asked People Make Games to remove that video, but instead new developments have come to light concerning the safety of children on the game platform. Roblox is a game platform aimed primarily at children and allows them to create their own video games for others to play. Through monetisation they can earn virtual currency named Robux, which can be converted to real money....
